Sneyd Judo Club Awarded Lottery Funding

Sport England have awarded £3,500 towards the purchase of new judo mats to the club. This lottery funding together with money raised from events such as the sponsorsed assault course and from members donations will enable the club to go ahead with the purchase. The new mats are expected to arrive early this summer.

Our existing mats were donated to the club, and had been in use for many years before. Five years ago these were perfectly serviceable, but now they are showing signs of wear and tear. The new mats will allow the club to continue to provide a local amenity and attract new people to the sport of judo.

Two of the conditions of receiving the grant is that the club continues to sustain and grow participation in the sport. Once we receive the mats around the summer half term holiday we hope to have some special events and try out sessions for new members.
